Dynamic and Rhythmic Distortion

DriveShaper is a creative distortion module designed for producers who want more than static saturation. Built to run inside ShaperBox, it combines advanced waveshaping with time-based modulation, allowing distortion to move, react, and evolve in sync with your music.

Instead of applying distortion as a fixed effect, DriveShaper lets you sculpt how and when distortion happens. This makes it equally suited for subtle harmonic enhancement, rhythmic pumping, and aggressive sound design.

Flexible Distortion Styles

DriveShaper includes a wide selection of distortion algorithms, ranging from classic clipping to extreme wavefolding. Each style responds differently to input dynamics, making it easy to dial in anything from smooth analogue warmth to harsh, digital edge.

Available styles cover:

• Soft, smooth and hard clipping for traditional saturation
• Rectification for octave and harmonic effects
• Square and zero-crossing distortion for aggressive textures
• Wavefolding algorithms for experimental and modern sound design

Modulation That Follows Your Music

A core strength of DriveShaper is its modulation system. Distortion can be animated using drawable LFO shapes that sync perfectly to tempo, enabling tight rhythmic effects or long evolving movements across multiple bars.

In addition to LFOs, DriveShaper supports:

• Envelope following for dynamic, level-dependent distortion
• Audio triggering that resets modulation on transients
• MIDI triggering for precise rhythmic control

This allows distortion to respond directly to grooves, drum hits, or melodic phrasing rather than remaining static.

Multiband Control and Precision

DriveShaper can split audio into up to three frequency bands, each with its own distortion style and modulation. This makes it possible to add weight to low frequencies, grit to mids, and edge to highs independently.

Additional parameters such as Grip, Push, Accent, and Tone provide fine control over how distortion behaves, helping it sit naturally in a mix or stand out as a dominant effect.
